Troubled former AFL star Ben Cousins has been jailed for 12 months.

The former West Coast and Richmond player faced a Perth court on charges of breaching a restraining order and stalking today, according to news.com.au.

The charges relate to an incident with his estranged partner, with whom he has two children.

Cousins has also been fined $2400.
