Wild beats Red Wings, Nashville defeats Dallas

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (AP) " Zach Parise scored twice and Devan Dubnyk made 30 saves to help the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Wild beat the Detroit Red Wings 6-3 on Sunday.

Charlie Coyle added a goal and an assist, and the Wild scored three power-play goals in four chances. Minnesota leads Chicago by five points and has played two fewer games than the Blackhawks.

Anthony Mantha had a goal and an assist for Detroit, Henrik Zetterberg and Andreas Athanasiou also scored, and Jared Coreau made 23 saves. The Red Wings have lost four straight and have the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Parise made it 4-2 early in the third off a scramble behind the net. Coreau tried to clear the puck around the boards, but Jason Pominville intercepted it and quickly fed it out front to Parise, who punched it into the open net.

Parise capped the scoring on the power play midway through the third period. Coreau deflected Jared Spurgeon's slap shot behind the net, but Eric Staal knocked it in front of the net and Parise whacked it out of the air for his 13th of the season.

PREDATORS 5, STARS 3

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) " Filip Forsberg scored a short-handed goal 6:02 into the third period as the Nashville Predators overcame a three-goal deficit to beat Dallas.

Roman Josi scored twice, Calle Jarnkrok had the tying goal 4:40 into the third, and Mike Fisher added an empty-netter with 1:38 left. James Neal and P.K. Subban each had two assists.

Jamie Benn had a goal and an assist for Dallas. Patrick Sharp and Devin Shore also scored, and Tyler Seguin had three assists.

SHARKS 4, DEVILS 1

NEWARK, New Jersey (AP) " Brent Burns scored two goals as San Jose beat New Jersey to snap a four-game losing streak.

Joe Thornton had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, Kevin Labanc added two assists, and Tomas Hertl had an empty-net tally late in the third period. Martin Jones made 21 saves.

PA Parenteau scored for the Devils.

BRUINS 4, CANADIENS 0

BOSTON (AP) " Tuukka Rask had his first career regular-season home win over Montreal by making 25 saves for his sixth shutout while 39-year-old Zdeno Chara had a short-handed goal as Boston improved to 3-0 under interim coach Bruce Cassidy.

Adam McQuaid, David Krejci and Frank Vatrano also scored to help Boston win for the sixth time in eight games.

Cassidy replaced fired coach Claude Julien.

Carey Price had 32 saves for the Canadiens. They lost for the sixth time in seven games.

ISLANDERS 5, AVALANCHE 1

NEW YORK (AP) " Anders Lee scored two of New York's three third-period goals to lead the Islanders past NHL-worst Colorado.

Nick Leddy had a goal and two assists, Ryan Strome and Jason Chimera also scored, and Jean-Francois Berube stopped 25 shots. New York improved to 7-0-2 in its last nine at home.

The Islanders pulled one point behind Toronto and Philadelphia for the second wild-card spot in Eastern Conference.

Joe Colborne scored for Colorado, and Calvin Pickard made 28 saves.

CANUCKS 4, SABRES 2

BUFFALO, New York (AP) " Alexandre Burrows scored for Vancouver and got under Buffalo's skin with his pesky play.

Burrows scored the go-ahead goal five minutes into the second period and also had an assist.

In the first period, Burrows slashed and shoved Buffalo goalie Robin Lehner, and Lehner retaliated with a shove. After the two were separated, Sabres defenseman Justin Falk took a high-speed run at Burrows and bowled him over. Lehner, Falk and Burrows were penalized for roughing, and Vancouver's Bo Horvat scored on the ensuing power play.

Michael Chaput scored twice for the Canucks, and Jacob Markstrom stopped 26 shots. Tyler Ennis and Kyle Okposo scored for Buffalo, and Lehner had 27 saves.
