New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox has got a lucky break.

He will get to play in the European Tour's lucrative Dubai Desert Classic this week after enduring an agonising wait to see if he would be in the field.

Fox was first on the alternates list but only found out on the eve of the tournament he would be playing.

The star studded field includes the likes of Henrik Stenson and Tiger Woods in his second tournament back from injury.
