After a false start the Black Caps are hoping to open their summer of cricket on day two of their first test against Pakistan.

The Christchurch weather forecast is looking a lot more promising with a whole day's play expected at Hagley Oval.

With a green pitch awaiting them, Black Caps batting coach Craig McMillan says it'll make for an interesting toss.

Play is set to begin at 10.30am.
