A former Breakers point guard is on the market as the ANBL club looks for an injury replacement.

Cedric Jackson has been let go by Melbourne United just nine games into his contract.

Melbourne says the decision is a strategic one as Jackson has averaged 10 points and 5 assists early this season.

The Breakers are searching for a replacement for Ben Woodside who's out for six to eight weeks.

It's thought the New Zealand club is in deep discussions with American guard David Stockton, though nothing has been confirmed.
