Islanders edge Ducks in OT for first win of season

NEW YORK (AP) " New York's Josh Bailey scored 54 seconds into overtime to give the Islanders a 3-2 victory over Anaheim in their first home game of the new season on Sunday.

Brock Nelson and John Tavares also scored for the Islanders who lost their opening two games on the road.

Cam Fowler and Ryan Getzlaf scored in the third period for the Ducks who have one point from the first three games of a five-game road trip to start the season.

Buffalo's Ryan O'Reilly had two goals and two assists to lead the Sabres over Edmonton 6-2 in their first victory of the season.

Brian Gionta also scored twice, and Kyle Okposo and Matt Moulson had Buffalo's other goals.

Benoit Pouliot and Milan Lucic scored for the Oilers.

Vancouver erased a three-goal deficit and Brandon Sutter scored 32 seconds into overtime to give the Canucks a 4-3 victory over Carolina.
