Tennis: Kiwi doubles players downed in Asia

Kiwis Michael Venus and Artem Sitak have lost their respective first round doubles matches at tournaments in Beijing and Tokyo.

Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic have been beaten 4-6, 6-4 and 10-4 in the super tiebreak by French pair Richard Gasquet and Lucas Pouille in the first round of the Beijing ATP tournament.

Sitak and American partner Nicholas Monroe have lost 6-4, 6-2 to second seeds Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram in the first round of the Japan Open.
