Kiwi triathlete Nicky Samuels is slowly easing back into training following a recent hip injury.

Samuels had a disappointing end to her ITU World Championship campaign when she crashed out in the final event in Mexico.

Samuels has been plagued by hip injuries over the last year but says she's hopeful of competing in two final events in Australia to end the year.

She says she's feeling okay but has been conscious to not push herself too hard and will have a scan on Wednesday to determine her progress.

Samuels is remaining coy on her competitive future and will make a decision near the end of the year.
