German teenager Alexander Zverev has beaten US Open tennis champion Stan Wawrinka in three sets to win the St Petersburg Open title.

The 19 year old has captured his maiden ATP World Tour title.

New Zealand's top doubles player Michael Venus and Croatian partner Mate Pavic have been beaten in the final of the ATP tournament in Metz.

The third seeds have lost 6-3, 7-6 to Chile's Julio Peralta and Argentine Horacio Zeballos.

Despite the loss Venus is projected to move to a career high 37 in the doubles rankings due out later today.
