Former Olympic bronze medalist Emma Moffatt to retire

SYDNEY (AP) " Former Olympic bronze medalist Emma Moffatt's appearance in the Cozumel ITU World Championship triathlon event this weekend will be her last before retiring.

Triathlon Australia made the announcement Friday that Moffatt, who finished sixth at the Rio Olympics last month, will end her career Saturday in Mexico at the age of 32.

Moffatt raced three times for Australia at the Olympics and won bronze at Beijing in 2008 before failing to finish at London in 2012 after a heavy fall during the cycling stage.

She also won ITU world championship titles in 2009 and 2010 and was on an Australian mixed team that won bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
