A staunch legacy filled with success has been a huge drawcard for Breakers signing Isaih Tueta.
Tueta's been signed as a short-term injury replacement for Shea Ili who's struggling with back problems.
Having played under former Breaker CJ Bruton in the South East Australian Basketball League, he'd heard glowing reports about the Breakers.
He says the Breakers and Perth have a dynasty going, with the Breakers now having a well established reputation.
Meanwhile the Breakers have lost their opening pre season game 80-70 to the Brisbane Bullets in Tauranga.
Head Coach Paul Henare summed up what he described as a typical first up performance of a pre-season.
"In many ways that was a typical first up performance, we were a bit rusty, we wasted too many possessions, had some confusion on the floor at times and didn't shoot the ball well. There was plenty to like as well, but we will be much better with that game under our belts for sure.
"What hurt me most was we got kicked on the boards, we will address that in video but we have to make a more concentrated effort to look after the boards, we have the guys to do the job but for some reason it did not happen tonight. We don't want to be that team, I want this team to be a team that dominates on the boards. That is one of the most disappointing things, you don't need time together to get that done."
