A fan who threw a banana at indigenous Adelaide player Eddie Betts could be banned from attending AFL games in the future.

Both the Adelaide and Port Adelaide clubs have condemned the actions of the woman featured in a video that has been shared on social media.

The video shows a woman in a Port Adelaide scarf waving her middle finger at Betts before throwing the object in his direction as he celebrated a goal during Adelaide's 15-point win over the Power on Saturday night.

Star Crows forward Taylor Walker said after the game that the fan "shouldn't ever be allowed back in to enjoy the football."

Adelaide says they have contacted Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority and the AFL saying they expect "significant action" taken against the person responsible.

Port Adelaide says they are "appalled by the vision" and won't tolerate that kind of behaviour.
The club will conduct a full investigation into the incident in coming days.
