Hales fined for 'inappropriate comments' in 4th test

LONDON (AP) " England opener Alex Hales has been fined 15 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC code of conduct during the fourth and final test match against Pakistan.

The ICC said in a statement on Friday that Hales visited third umpire Joel Wilson's room after he was adjudged caught low at square leg and out for 6 at the Oval in England's first innings.

Hales "made some inappropriate comments" while he was leaving the room during the first day's play on Thursday, the ICC said.

Hales admitted the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Richie Richardson of the West Indies.
