Football: All Whites striker Shane Smeltz signs with Malaysian Super League club Kedah

All Whites striker Shane Smeltz is leaving the A-League.

Smeltz will join Malaysian Super League side Kedah, after nine seasons in the Australian competition, including the past two with Sydney FC.

The Malaysian season is underway, with Kedah sitting 5th in the 12 team competition.

The German-born striker has played mainly in the A-League, although he has had stints in England and Turkey.

Smeltz has also won multiple awards throughout his career including the 2007 and 2008 Oceania Footballer of the Year, two A-League Golden Boots, and he has also been included in the PFA Team of the Decade (2005-2015).
