Kevin Locke's manager insists the former Kiwis' fullback is not about to make a code switch to the NSW Waratahs.

The 27-year-old is currently recovering from a shoulder reconstruction that he underwent last December, and will not be fit to play until next month at the earliest.

However his manager, former Melbourne five-eighth Scott Hill, said reports linking the eight-Test international to contract talks with the Super Rugby franchise were untrue.

"He's never said anything about the Waratahs and I don't know where it's come from," Hill told AAP.

"He's got a few different options, but when they come we'll announce them."

Locke starred with the Warriors and his combination with Shaun Johnson was key to guiding the club to the 2011 NRL grand final.

However he eventually lost his spot when the club signed Sam Tomkins, he then headed to the English Super League, joining Salford.

His career in the northern hemisphere was short-lived though.

Locke was involved in a pay dispute with Salford and then released by Wakefield after he was the passenger in a car crashed by former Parramatta halfback Tim Smith, who refused to undergo a blood alcohol test following the incident.

And while Locke is now technically a free agent, Hill said he had not entered into any discussions with either an NRL or Super Rugby club.

"He's done some really good stuff with himself personally," Hill said.

"At the moment he's just getting his own life in order. And that's a priority while he's doing his (shoulder) rehab and those sorts of things."

The Waratahs also quashed speculation linking him to the club last week.
