Defending French Open champion Stan Wawrinka's worrying form has continued, losing in the second round of the Madrid Open to Aussie Nick Kyrgios in straight sets.

Wawrinka has struggled in 2016, and also lost early at last month's Monte Carlo Masters.

Wawrinka's not concerned about his poor results on clay.

He says he's trying to win as much as he can and is not focus on getting matches in ahead of the French Open.

Top seed Novak Djokovic has cruised into the third round with a straight sets win.
