Chris Rattue and Wynne Gray reveal their winners and losers from the sporting weekend.
Winners:
Andrew McFadden: Take it away Cappy. You've been through acres of torment and the Warriors are still playing on three cylinders but you and Jim Doyle took a stand on behavior and came up trumps. - WG
The Warriors: The NRL match against the Dragons at Mt Smart was not exactly a classic, but the phrase 'a win is a win' has extra meaning after the shenanigans of last week which saw six players dropped to reserve grade. - CR
Leicester City: Have edged closer to the EPL title with a comeback draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. If Tottenham Hotspur don't win at Chelsea tomorrow morning, Leicester will be crowned as the most unlikely EPL champions there will ever be. - CR
Peter Burling and Blair Tuke: Another sailing gold before starting the 49ers medal races in France, extended their run to 26 consecutive regattas. A remarkable feat from two special sportsmen. - WG
Jaguares: The Argentinian Super Rugby newcomers have been a little disappointing but bounced back from defeat against the Sunwolves by scoring 73 points in their latest game. Footnote: Their opponents were the hopeless Southern Kings. - CR
Tactix: Seven years of hope and despair, finally hit a reward when they won consecutive netball games. A week ago they slaughtered the Mystics by a point and yesterday bashed the Pulse by the same margin. - WG
Losers:
Kiwis
The tail is wagging the dog, with the Warriors deciding who is and isn't eligible for the national team. Very disappointing. - CR
Brumbies: How the mighty have slipped. The poster boys for all that good in Oz, have slid down the Super rugby table as their administration also unravels. - WG
Dragons: If you can't beat the Warriors under those circumstances...time to pack up the tent men. The Dragons had a shocker at Mt Smart. - CR
Jarryd Hayne: The NFL hopeful hit more quicksand with the San Francisco 49ers when the franchise picked up another running back in the sixth-round draft. - WG
Laremy Tunsil
Who is that you say? He's the American college football player who dropped down the NRL draft picks because someone hacked his Twitter account and posted an old video of him smoking the wild weed through a bong and gas mask. He got a contract, but the hoo-ha cost him $10m. - CR
TV 3: Losing Hilary Barry is a massive defeat for the channel. The epitome of balance and normality is heading out the door in another major blow to the news broadcaster. - WG
