Jerry Collins' sisters have helped his former club win the Wellington women's club rugby trophy on Saturday.
Northern United triumphed over Oriental-Rongotai on Saturday, led by captain Helen Collins, and brought home the Wellington Women's Victoria Tavern Trophy.
Collins told clubrugby.co.nz that after a year of loss, she was proud of her team's victory.
"It's been a hard year for our club. We have had three losses this year - including Phil Rees and Jerry Collins, so this is so we'll celebrate this win with our team but also our club."
The game was played at the recently renamed Jerry Collins Stadium in Porirua.
Jerry Collins was a Norths captain and the stadium was named after him following his death on June 5 in a car crash in France that also killed his partner Alana Madill and seriously injured their baby Ayla.
Tiana Collins played number 8 for Norths, Jerry's position, and scored a try in the game. Northern United won 24-22.
