Kiwi golfer Danny Lee has recorded another top-25 finish on the PGA Tour as he continued his consistent season.
The 24-year-old carded a one-under 71 at the rain-affected Zurich Classic in Louisiana today as he claimed a share of 22nd as he finished at 15-under.
Lee was in the mix during the early stages of the third round yesterday but when the leaders went under the card during their final rounds, Lee was unable to pick up enough strokes to remain in contention.
England's Justin Rose won the event at 22-under after he signed for a six-under 66 during his final round. Rose was one stroke ahead of American Cameron Tringale, while Boo Weekley finished third at 20-under.
Lee's finish will likely push him further up the FedEx Cup standings to 53rd. Manawatu's Tim Wilkinson carded a two-under 70 in his final round as he finished in a tie for 48th.
Wilkinson had missed the cut in his four previous events but his top-50 finish had him projected to jump seven places in the FedEx Cup standings to 175th.
Hamilton's Steven Alker, playing on the PGA Tour this season for the first time since 2003, missed the cut and could drop another spot in the FedEx Cup standings to 193rd.
On the European Tour, Michael Hendry finished with a disappointing final round of 74 as he claimed a share of 31st at the China Open.
Hendry opened with a four-under 68 to be one of the first-round leaders but he never went under the card during the rest of the tournament as he finished at even-par. China's Ashun Wu won the event at nine-under.
The North Shore's Hendry banked $31,450 for his efforts but he may have been left wondering what might have been after his promising start. Kiwis Ryan Fox and Mark Brown missed the cut.
Hendry registered his maiden win on the Japan Tour the previous week and looks set for a big year in 2015.
