Dalton Bromac might have lost his only Alexandra Park start but he could be better off there tonight than he was brilliantly winning twice at Addington during Cup week.
That is the opinion of trainer Brendon Hill as he brings his exceptional four-year-old to Auckland for the first time tonight.
Well, their first time together. Dalton Bromac has been to Alexandra Park before and got beaten as an immature three-year-old last season when trained by John and David Butcher.
Since then he has been sold to clients of Hill's stable and gone on a winning rampage, including his two Cup week stunners.
He warmed up for tonight's race by beating Pembrook Benny at the workouts last Saturday and while he can still gawk during his races and trials, Hill has taken the murphy blind off tonight as he thinks Dalton Bromac won't need it right-handed.
"He can still run around a bit, he is an interesting horse like that," he smiles.
"But I think he has come on mentally since Addington.
"And he handled The Park well last week."
As talented as some of his opponents are tonight, Dalton Bromac looks headed for the big time and should start multi punters off on the right foot.
