NRL: Barba to make Brisbane debut at Nines

Ben Barba will make his Brisbane debut at this weekend's NRL Auckland Nines, the Broncos have announced.

The superstar fullback was named on Tuesday alongside fellow recruits Martin Kennedy and Stewart Mills in coach Anthony Griffin's 18-man squad for the Eden Park event.

New captain Corey Parker will lead the Broncos at the short-form tournament, while dumped skipper Sam Thaiday has also been confirmed to play.

Kiwi internationals Josh Hoffman and Alex Glenn are also among those named in the squad to be cut to 16 players alongside Ben Hunt, Matt Gillett, David Stagg, Andrew McCullough and Todd Lowrie.

Joe Ofahengaue, the nephew of former Wallabies great Willie Ofahengaue is also in the Broncos line-up.
