HARRISON, New Jersey (AP) Tim Cahill's header in the final seconds of stoppage time lifted New York to a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution on Saturday, clinching a Major League Soccer playoff berth for the Eastern Conference-leading Red Bulls.
New England went up 2-1 late in the game after Lee Nguyen converted an 85th-minute penalty and Diego Fagundez found the net in the 90th.
But in stoppage time, Revolution keeper Matt Reis punched away a free kick and Cahill headed it home for the draw.
The Red Bulls are unbeaten in their last six games and lead the Eastern Conference on 53 points.
In other games, the Philadelphia Union moved into the fifth and final playoff spot in the East with a 1-0 win at home over Toronto FC, Sporting Kansas City defeated the Columbus Crew 1-0, the Colorado Rapids trounced the Seattle Sounders 5-1, and FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake drew 1-1.
Veteran Brazilian midfielder Kleberson, acquired by the Union earlier this year in a trade with Brazilian club Esporte Clube Bahia for star Freddy Adu, scored his first MLS goal for Philadelphia on a free kick from 25 yards out in stoppage time.
Philadelphia moved two points clear of Chicago for fifth place in the standings, with three games to play in the season.
Ike Opara scored in the 17th minute to lift Sporting Kansas City, who sit in second in the East, two points behind New York.
The loss was a blow to the playoff chances of the Crew, who had won three straight and are now four points back for the final spot in the East with two games remaining.
Deshorn Brown scored twice for the Rapids, including a strike just 13 seconds into the game which set a record for the quickest goal in club history.
Dillon Powers, Gabriel Torres and Drew Moor added goals for the Rapids, who moved into fourth place ahead of idle Los Angeles in the Western Conference.
Seattle played without several injured players, including leading scorer Obaemi Martins (hip) and midfielder Clint Dempsey (hamstring).
FC Dallas, meanwhile, got the equalizer from Kenny Cooper in the 72nd minute to draw with Western Conference leader Real Salt Lake.
