MADRID (AP) Spain's anti-doping agency is looking for a new head after Ana Munoz was named the director of Spain's Sports Council on Friday.
Council president Miguel Cardenal said a new head of the anti-doping agency, the Sports Health Protection Agency, will be announced on Oct. 3
Hired in March 2012, Munoz had impressed with her hard talk on fighting doping and by helping the government push through a tougher anti-doping law in June.
Even so, Spain's tarnished anti-doping record took another hit when this year's Operation Puerto verdict included a judge's order to destroy evidence that watchdogs hoped would be handed over for further investigation.
Munoz's agency appealed that ruling.
