St Kentigern College had to rely on a last minute penalty goal by No 10 William Raea to clinch their third Auckland 1A First XV title.

Before a large crowd at Eden Park, St Kent's won 13-11 against a committed and slightly unlucky Auckland Grammar School, with the final call a marginal one.

The victory means St Kent's remain unbeaten after 50 games dating back to 2011.

Dilworth College made no race of the 1B final curtainraiser, crushing Macleans College 36-3.
