New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl in the first one-day international against England at Lord's today.
The Kiwis are without spinner Daniel Vettori, who was hoping to make his comeback after a long-term Achilles injury, while England is without pace bowlers Stuart Broad and Steven Finn.
Broad was ruled out by a bruised right knee he sustained in the final test at Headingley, while Finn has a shore shin.
