England have decided to bat after winning the toss in the second test against New Zealand at Headingley.

The ground is bathed in sunshine after the first day was abandoned due to rain. It is around 12 degrees with a forecast high of 17.

As expected, New Zealand has opted to play four pace bowlers with Doug Bracewell replacing injured spinner Bruce Martin in the starting XI. Captain Brendon McCullum takes the wicket-keeping gloves from the injured B-J Watling, while Martin Guptill will bat at six.

This is New Zealand's seventh test at the ground. They have won once in 1983, their first test victory in England.
