The Queensland Reds have become the first Australian team in Super Rugby history to record a regular season clean sweep over New Zealand opposition.

The Reds have moved to the top of the competition ladder after a gritty 12-11 win over the Blues in Brisbane.

Quade Cooper kicked all 12 of the Reds' points with the match-winning penalty coming in the 73rd minute.

Blues midfielder back Jackson Willison scored the only try of the match, while Chris Noakes and Albert Nikoro kicked penalties.

The Blues remain atop the New Zealand conference, but are only two points clear of the Chiefs, who face the Sharks tonight.

Meanwhile, the Stormers have edged the Hurricanes 18-16 in Palmerston North to move on to the verge of the top six.
