Pollock in charge of first Lions test

New Zealand referee Chris Pollock has been appointed as the match official for the opening test between Australia and the British and Irish Lions.

Pollock will take charge of the June 22 test at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.

South Africa's Craig Joubert and France's Romain Poite will referee the other two test matches in Melbourne on June 29 and Sydney on July 6.

Fellow New Zealander Steve Walsh has been appointed to the tour opener between the Lions and the Barbarians in Hong Kong while Glen Jackson will referee the tour match between the Melbourne Rebels and the Lions on June 25.

The Lions tour begins on June 1 and concludes on July 6.
