The Crowd Goes Wild host Andrew Mulligan will be taking over Tony Veitch's role on Radio Sport's breakfast show later next year.

The Radio Network today announced the change, with Mulligan taking up the presenting role alongside Crowd Goes Wild co-host Mark Richardson.

Mulligan currently co-hosts The Rock's morning rumble breakfast show.

Veitch will concentrate on his Newstalk ZB Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning programmes, Radio Network's general manager of talk programming, Dallas Gurney said.

Mulligan, who currently hosts Prime's daily sport show The Crowd Goes Wild, said he was excited to be able to talk more about sport.

"It's a great career move for me and one I am thrilled about. Radio Sport is the home of sport, it was the first fully dedicated radio station to sport, so to be part of the breakfast team is a huge privilege for me."
