The man accused of assaulting former Steamers player Simon Chisholm has been remanded on bail without plea to re-appear in Tauranga District Court on October 29.
Uenuku Porena Teita, 22, a farmhand from the Lower Kaimai Range, faces one charge of injuring Mr Chisholm with reckless disregard for the safety of others.
Mr Chisholm was punched unconscious during a premier-grade match in July.
