Marina Erakovic has been beaten in the second round of WTA tennis event in Stanford, going down 6-3 3-6 6-4 to Urszula Radwanska of Poland in a match lasting two hour and 10 minutes today.
The world No 50, who was the eighth seed for the US$740,000 tournament, beat the 57th-ranked Radwanska at Wimbledon recently but had trouble with her serve today. She was broken six times in the match and had five double faults.
Erakovic is still in the doubles and has combined with great Britain's Heather Watson to progress to the semifinals. They will play either Natalie Grandi (South Africa) and Vladimira Uhlirova (Czech Republic) or Eleni Daniilidou (Greece) and Urszula Radwanska (Poland) in the semifinals.
