The Auckland Racing Club yesterday appointed Cameron George as chief executive officer.
George has more recently served the industry as head of the Racing Integrity Unit.
The Australian takes up the position at Ellerslie with extensive experience in both New Zealand and Australia's integrity systems.
Auckland Racing Club chairman Russell Warwick said: "The board is delighted to appoint someone of Cameron's calibre to the position of chief executive at Ellerslie.
"To complement his racing experience, Cameron also has a strong background in residential and commercial property, which we believe will be of enormous benefit to Ellerslie's future growth."
Says Cameron George: "It is a privilege for me to have been afforded the chance to lead such a successful organisation.
"The opportunities that exist across the business, within all of its facets, will provide exciting times for myself, Auckland Racing Club members, staff and the public, who get to experience what it is to be a part of the exhilarating environment Ellerslie offers."
George takes up the position in mid-August.
