Will Power's IndyCar championship lead has been cut dramatically after a disappointing finish to the Chicagoland 400 race yesterday.
New Zealand's Scott Dixon finished eighth after starting 15th on the grid and remains third in the overall standings behind Power and Dario Franchitti.
Chasing his first win on an oval-circuit, Power was on course to break his duck and extend his championship lead with five laps left in the 200-lap race at the 2.4km track in southwest Chicago.
But an unscheduled stop for fuel spoiled his chances and he finished 16th.
