Footpath riding has hazards
A reader writes: "I observed an accident where a child was riding on the footpath as his parents had told him to do. A car came down a driveway just in front of him. He hit the car, left the bike and somersaulted over the car's bonnet, landing on the other side on his head. Luckily, he was wearing a helmet. I had him lie in the recovery position and sent the driver (who was in shock and elderly) to call an ambulance. In any event, the boy was fine but his helmet was most definitely not."
What's in a name?
"I attempted to collect my wife's passport from the NZ Post Courier depot today," writes a reader. "Because we don't share the same surname they could not confirm the relationship and I returned without the parcel. However they did admit that if my wife was to collect our son's passport (again with differing surnames), that would have been fine. It seems like they have a few holes in the process."
Stop me if you've heard this before
If you have the feeling you've experienced an event before in real life, call it déjà vu. If you feel like you've previously experienced an event in a dream instead, there's a different term for it: déjà rêvé. (Source: Mental Floss)
