Revenge served hot
An unknown colleague was stealing a woman's homemade lunch every few days or so. Frustrated the problem was ongoing, the woman's husband stepped in, making a fiery lunch of buffalo wings clearly marked with his wife's name. "I spiced them up just a little with some [extremely hot sauce]," he wrote on Reddit. "I note you are meant to dilute it with one drop per five litres of liquid. So I added a couple of drops [more] per wing with nice dusting of chilli powder for good measure." Before lunchtime, there was a scream from the kitchen. A young male colleague (a subordinate!) was reaping what he had sown. "He ate fast so as not to get caught, sucked the meat off the first one and was chewing on the second before he realised. He ran to the toilet and vomited over and over. Apparently the moans sounded like he was dying. My wife just sat ... pretending nothing was wrong. Needless to say she has not lost a single lunch since."
Keeping up with tastes
Minna from Fonterra explains why you only seem to get lemonade Popsicles these days. "While lemonade is still Tip Top's most popular ice-block flavour, kids [now] have more adventurous taste buds and prefer flavours a little more exciting than plain orange or raspberry. While you can still get those two in our mini-sized treats in the supermarket, our newer flavours tend to be more tropical or fun combinations like Junglicious [which] is actually strawberry and guava flavoured."
The best Kindle book cover
But ... You're a Horse by David Bussell is the best Kindle book cover, only because it's not a bodice ripper, but a "collection of pranks, anecdotes and gags that have nothing whatsoever to do with the cover of the book".
Looking for Rusty
Mikala and Dana write: "Our little Maltese-cross boy of 9 years old with a heart condition [vanished] from our property in Avondale, Auckland on Tuesday. Rusty (right) is our world as we can't have children. We have printed fliers, door-knocked, advertised on websites and contacted all animal shelters. Rusty is registered, micro-chipped and has his name and my phone number on his collar. We now fear someone has him and without a special diet and medication his future isn't good."
