A former head of the Rotorua Salvation Army has admitted a charge of unlawfully behaving in an offensive manner.
Brian Noel Martin, 64, pleaded guilty to the charge in the Rotorua District Court this morning.
He had originally been charged with doing an indecent act in a public place. However, the indecency charge was withdrawn and replaced with the lesser charge today.
Martin was remanded on bail to reappear for sentencing on June 18.
The offence happened on December 6 in Amohia St, Rotorua. No further details have been released.
Martin was the Rotorua Salvation Army Community Ministries manager for several years.
His involvement with the Salvation Army was suspended at the time of his arrest and he resigned soon after.
