The owner of a French bakery and cafe who put out a bucket to catch New Zealanders' tears after the 2007 Rugby World Cup has ruled out doing the same in the advent of a France-All Black final.
"This year, the bucket won't be big enough, I'm afraid," said La Tropezienne owner Louis Bouquet.
"I'm expecting a tsunami of tears.
"So I'm thinking about a lifejacket this time. I'm thinking that will be more useful than a bucket."
Kiwi customers of the Browns Bay establishment shook their heads at his optimism before the 2007 quarter-final between France and the All Blacks.
After the All Blacks were knocked out, most took it in good humour, and one older patron gave him a jar of Kiwi tears.
Mr Bouquet and his stuffed rooster Cocorico are desperate for an All Blacks-France final next weekend, and the chance to avenge the French loss in the first World Cup final, which he attended.
"I was there in'87, and I've waited 25 years for that moment to happen."
He said tonight's semifinal against Wales would be extremely tough, but he had faith in his team.
He was also backing the All Blacks to beat the Wallabies tomorrow night, but for selfish reasons.
"I just hope the Australians don't kick the Kiwis out - because that's our job."
