Two days of motorsport hill climb action will test the skills of drivers on both tarmac and gravel this weekend.
Motorsport BOP will be bringing its two day hillclimb challenge to roads north-east of Rotorua today and tomorrow, with a tarmac hillclimb on Matahi Rd today and a gravel event on a Manawahe Rd tomorrow.
The 3.7 section of Matahai Rd starts at Matahi Rd, Rotoma, starting just past the junction with State Highway 30. Parking and pits will be at the Rotoma foreshore parking area.
The start of tomorrow's 3.7km stage is at the junction of Manawahe and Pongakawa Valley Roads. Parking and pits will be at the Rotoma School, Manawahe Rd. This section of road has been used for many years and will test the skill of any driver who attempts it.
On each day, one practice and three timed runs are scheduled, starting at 10am on each day.
