Rotoiti captain Joe Royal has urged his players to minimise their mistakes as his side go in search of their first win in round two of the Premier 1 competition.
Sixth placed Rotoiti host third placed Te Puna today, at Emery Park, and look to redeem themselves from a 13-30 defeat in the reverse fixture from round one.
Rotoiti come into the game off the back of two frustrating draws and last weekend's disappointing 12-5 away loss to Tauranga Sports.
Royal said his side must put in a complete team performance and confidently secure the ball if they are to get a winning result.
"The last time we played Te Puna they killed us around the loose ball, so any quick turnovers they will pounce on and they will run," he said.
"We are going to have to minimise our mistakes like dropping the ball and giving away penalties.
"If we can fix that part of our game we should be okay, but it is going to be tough.
"We must get back to playing a 15-man game, rather than a forwards and backs game. We are doing alright but to challenge for a top four place we need to step it up."
Te Puna will be tough opposition - fourth on the table at the halfway stage of the season, and recording two wins after three matches in the newly formatted Premier beating both Greerton Marist and Whakatane Marist.
However they suffered their first defeat last weekend, losing 24-0 away to second placed Rangataua.
"The boys were bitterly disappointed with last weekend's efforts. To Rangataua's credit, they played extremely well in tough conditions and thoroughly deserved the win," reflected Te Puna's coach Daniel Quate.
"We have regrouped this week with a good honest assessment of the season so far and trained with a bit of purpose.
"The team is hungry for a result and we'll be looking for a step up in accuracy and intent from our last outing.
"We are expecting another tough one this Saturday, and they have a big mobile pack. It's a must win game for us."
