Auckland's Nathan Kim has won the 2015 Holiday Inn Rotorua Open, holding off Tauranga's Sam Davis by two shots.
The 72-hole tournament was held across three days from Friday to Sunday at the Rotorua Golf Club, with a field of 52 amateurs entered.
The defending champion Landyn Edwards (Rotorua) was the best local performer finishing tied-sixth, at four over-par.
But the weekend belonged to Kim who finished eight-under par after the four rounds, followed by Davis at six-under par.
Rotorua Golf Club general manager Don Blackledge said it was a good weekend of golf, and Kim held his nerve well to secure the title.
"He held on to a one-shot lead going into the last round and won by two shots, so it was touch and go," Blackledge said.
He said the weather was good for the most part and the course was in great condition.
"We had a bit of a thunderstorm on Friday afternoon but it did not stop proceedings," he said. "The course was in excellent condition even though it was a bit dry."
The prize table was valued at just under $8000 and Blackledge thanked the sponsors including Holiday Inn, 100% Golf, and New World.
