The Ranfurly Shield will stay in Hawke's Bay for at least two more weeks after they defeated Bay of Plenty in Napier.
The Bay of Plenty Steamers were unable to win the shield for the first time in 10 years today, going down 36-17 at McLean Park.
Hawke's Bay were better in most areas of the game today and slowly built on their lead throughout the match.
It means Bay of Plenty are headed for another unsuccessful year with only one win next to their name, from seven starts this season.
