Stella Maris heads to Hollywood

Rotorua's Stella Maris is one of 18 selected to represent New Zealand at the World Championship of Performing Arts in Los Angeles in July. Contestants from 40 countries will compete for titles in the singing, dancing, modelling, acting, comedy and instrumental categories at the prestigious event.
Hundreds of people attended the Whakaue Whanau Day at Maketu on Sunday. The day aimed to get families together to enjoy themselves and it was themed around the water and the land. Ben Fraser and George Novak were there.
Aerialist Edward Clendon launches himself into his incredible silks performance at the Cirque Grande which is touring New Zealand. Clendon, who has performed all over the world with The Dust Palace circus theatre company, performs a series of acrobatic manoeuvres high above the ground while entwined in two long lengths of silk. Cirque Grande has just finished showing in Christchurch and is in Porirua from tomorrow.
