Why doesn't the council just hold up on the Hemo Gorge sculpture project for now and exercise some common sense and concentrate on the Rotorua Museum project?
Why don't they put the allocated funding towards repairing the Rotorua Museum project which seems to be more of a priority for Rotorua and our visitors from around the globe, the sooner the museum doors open the better for everyone.
Honestly out of the two projects which one is more iconic and appealing, which one will draw more people to our beautiful city adding greater value and manaakitanga to Rotorua and the world...hello!

This year's Christmas tree is a vast improvement on its $26,000 skeleton that we were presented with last year. The lush greenery and decorations are lovely but at what cost?
But then it doesn't matter does it because there seems to be a bottomless pit of funding for the city revitalisation.
Also, I'm still puzzled by the fact that council has promoted Rotorua as a 'wood first' town. We have hundreds of thousands of trees on our doorstep and there are probably several, including in the council nursery, that could have been a 'wood first' Christmas tree, complete with the lovely smell that would go with it.
