OMG, our Rotorua Lakes Council has just won the trifecta - first for the redundant cycle way, second for the canning of the Eastern bypass and now the Mud Festival.
If Councillor Sturt "it is not fair to ask for a 100 per cent guarantee" and Mayor Steve Chadwick "once (people) hear the real story they'll say it is quite exiting" they should ask the farmers down south what they think about risking our entire dairy sectors livelihood for council leadership taking a punt on the risk of foot and mouth disease outbreak?
Then to read that our negative reaction to this decision is the cause of a half a million dollar loss indeed throws mud in the ratepayers' eyes.

I'm not sure Jacinda would appreciate the comparison with Margaret Thatcher (Rotorua Daily Post August 4) but perhaps Helen Clark would better fit the description.
Like Helen, Jacinda has retained arts and culture. This is encouraging because the arts received a much needed shot in the arm when Labour last held office.
It's also unfair to imply that Andrew Little did not genuinely care about this country.
How anyone could come to that conclusion is a mystery to me.
