Wet weather finally cleared for Westbrook School Year 2 students to go on their community walk.
The two-hour walk around the school district happened earlier this monthand saw four classrooms walk around the district learning about the area.
The students learned where their school lunch orders were made, the origins of their house names and why each one represented a certain colour, including Pukehangi green, Pomare orange, Karamu yellow and Utuhina blue.
The walk was scheduled for two previous occasions but had to be cancelled because of wet weather.
