Ali Pottinger and her partner Kerry Suter say living in Rotorua is like living in a holiday destination.
"People travel the world to come and discover Rotorua."
They sold their respective houses in Masterton and Cambridge before buying a house in Springfield in September last year.
"We're enjoying the Redwoods, Eat Streat, the lakes," Ms Pottinger said.
The couple own Squadrun which delivers online tailored running coaching and programmes for those wanting to do events such as the Tarawera Marathon, or just to keep up their fitness.
They said the move to Rotorua fitted well with their business.
"We kept coming here. It's a great central location and we can access the outdoors easily. We also had a lot of friends who already lived here which was a good selling point."
Mr Suter said he thought Rotorua was the perfect mix of Queenstown and Ngaruawahia.
"It's a world-class tourist destination with an authentic Kiwi town feel."
When told by the Rotorua Daily Post that the population of Rotorua had grown above 70,000 Ms Pottinger was surprised there wasn't more people.
"The lifestyle is great. It's a really good place to be."
She encouraged others to move to Rotorua.
"Go for it. We really enjoying living here, it's got a small town feel but with facilities set up for tourists. There are first-class places like the Redwoods which are an amazing asset, it's free, you can run and walk, it's awesome."
