A missing man has been found on the grounds of a Fenton St motel in a serious condition.
Police found the man about 10am today after receiving calls from the public.
Acting senior sergeant Roger Schreuder said when they found him he was in need of medical attention so they called an ambulance.
He said the man had been reported as missing by his family this morning but they had not seen him since 9am yesterday morning.
"He is receiving treatment at Rotorua Hospital," Mr Schreuder said.
St John Ambulance duty control manager Ngarie Jones said they were called by police at 10.08am and had since taken the man to Rotorua Hospital in serious condition.
A spokeswoman from the motel said she hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary.
