Farming can be a stressful business - but a woolshed concert in Rotorua next month aims to promote farmers' well-being while also giving them a good night out.
The Sons of a Bitch and Mel Parsons North Island Woolshed Tour 2016 is coming to Rotorua on November 2.
The North Island tour follows The Bitches' Box and Mel Parsons' smash-hit sell-out tour of the South Island earlier this year.
The show will feature award-winning folk and country artist Mel Parsons and in "Sons of a Bitch" Amelia Dunbar and Emma Newborn.
Parsons said each show started with a fundraising barbecue which went for about an hour, raising funds for a school.
"It's really lovely, it turns into a bit of a community gathering."
She said they were also taking the tour partner Farmstrong's campaign message on the road with them.
The campaign aims to get farmers off the farm for the night, to have some fun, and to promote mental health and well-being in small communities.
Parsons said farmers had a constant battle on their hands with the market and weather, and that it was a stressful business, so it was good there were organisations such as Farmstrong focusing on health and well-being.
She said there had been many times where they had performed in woolsheds and they liked getting to meet great people in rural places.
"The shows are special because it's a unique concept, rather than performing in a theatre.
"It's just a really interesting experience for people and it's good fun."
On the night she performs a solo music show performing new and old original songs and Sons of a Bitch follows - a theatre comedy show about dogs.
"It's very, very funny. It really is a good, fun night out. People come away really happy and it's a really great community get-together."
Throughout the tour they will be travelling by horse truck.
Parsons said it was great and had sleeping quarters in the front, with storage in the back for seating and production equipment.
Tickets were selling quite quickly, she said.
