Revellers gathered at The Landing on Lake Tarawera on the eve of the new fishing season last night.
Haggis and whisky shots were served as many boaties enjoyed the festivities before spending the night on the water, so as to be ready to fish at first light this morning.
A large crowd watched as the traditional pipe band marched down onto the lake front.
The Landing restaurant served up haggis and whisky shots in a time-honoured tradition dating back many years.
