The number of houses sold in Rotorua is higher than the same time the previous year, with median prices increasing too.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures released this morning showed 138 houses sold in July 2016, up 15 per cent on the 120 houses sold in July 2015.

The median price is also up 26 per cent compared to the same time last year, with it hitting $315,050 last month.

However, the number of houses sold in July is down on the 179 houses sold in June.

The number of days to sell in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty region improved by two days in July, from 32 days in June to 30 days in July.
